Capturing Data & Creating Stations

This article will cover how to create a station in Collage Site.

Capturing scan data in Collage Site begins with creating a new station. The “station” is a container for all the information you can collect with the instrument at the location it was set up. You may see “Setup” and “Station” used interchangeably throughout this documentation. Follow the steps below to create a new station:

If you are not connected to an instrument, this option will not be available. If you are connected, then you will need to tap the Add New Station button in the right-side workflow panel.

A) Clicking Cancel will abort the operation without creating the station and return you to the project

B) Clicking OK will proceed with creating the station as named. However, you cannot create a station with the same name as another one that may be stored in the current project folder of the SD card inserted into the scanning instrument.

The station will then be added to both the scanner and the field software:

Once the station is created you will be presented with the Choose Workflow panel again. This allows you to localize the instrument or capture scan data in the newly created station.

Finally, it is important to note that you cannot resume localization OR scan processes at the current station if you close Collage Site in the middle of a workflow. If you closed the application during one of these workflows, you will need create new station and start scanning or localizing again.
